PURPOSE:To eliminate a scanning time and to improve the utilization efficiency of a device by starting the scanning of an optical system before the feeding of an original is completed. CONSTITUTION:A paper feeding roller 13 is driven by a driving motor, one of originals placed on an original tray 11 is preliminarily fed. Then, a PS roller 14 and a carrying belt 15 are driven and the original is carried on an original platen 3. Before the carrying of the original is completed, the scanning of a copy lamp, a mirror, etc., 41 is started by the driving of an optical driving motor on an optical system device 4. The copy lamp, mirror, etc., 41 pass through a reference position on the original platen 3 after the lapse of a fixed time from the start of the scanning. The feeding and returning actions for the scanning by the optical system device 4 are controlled by a microcomputer. |
