POLYOLEFINIC STRETCHABLE NONWOVEN FABRIC AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric having a high stretch recovery ratio and excellent hand by carrying out point bonding of a specific amount in a web composed of specific polyolefinic highly crimpable heat-bonding conjugate fiber and then developing three-dimensional crimps. CONSTITUTION:Point bonding is carried out on the surface of a web composed of (A) polyolefinic highly crimpable heat-bonding conjugate fiber in which a low-melting ocmponent and a high-melting component are arranged in the side- by-side type or eccentric sheath-core type alone or mixed fiber thereof with (B) other organic fiber containing >=30wt.% component (A) at positions of many point surfaces, respectively having 0.007-0.8cm<2> area and distributing on the web surface so as to provide the total area of 10-40% based on the web surface at a temperature up to a temperature 5 deg.C higher than the melting point of the low-melting component. The resultant web is then heat-treated at a lower temperature than the melting point of the low-melting component to develop three-dimensional crimps in the aforementioned conjugate fiber. Thereby, the objective nonwoven fabric is obtained.
