PURPOSE:To obtain the electrostatic latent image developing toner having excellent electrostatic chargeability and environmental stability by uniformly sticking a charge control agent material having positive chargeability on the surface of polymer particles having negative chargeability. CONSTITUTION:The coloring agent-contg. polymer particles having the negative chargeability is prepd. by a suspension polymn. and the polyvinyl alcohol used as a suspension stabilizer is hydrolyzed and is removed from the polymer particles; thereafter, the charge control agent material having the positive chargeability is uniformly stuck to the surface of the polymer particles. A quaternary ammonium salt is used as the positively charged charge control agent. The positively charged charge control agent is stuck to the surface of the polymer particles by dissolving the positively charged charge control agent into a solvent which does not dissolve or swell the polymer particles and bringing the polymer particles into contact with the soln., then drying away the solvent. The polymer particles are thereafter disintegrated and classified at need, by which the electrostatic latent image developing toner is obtd. |
