<p>PURPOSE:To rapidly and safely cool slag and to crush the slag with a low- capacity crusher with reduced dusting by transferring the screened slag having a specified lump diameter to a cooling place with a metallic container, crushing and then screening the slag having the lump diameter larger than the specified value. CONSTITUTION:The slag in a ladle is discharged onto a vibrating grate having 300-500mm mesh. The melted, half-melted or solidified slag and base metal having the smaller size than the opening of the grate are charged into the connected metallic containers 2 having requisite releasability. The residue having a larger size than the opening is collapsed by a presser of a pressing vessel, passed through the opening and discharged into the container 2 through a conveyor 4. The slag in the container 2 is continuously conveyed into a dust-proof cooler 6, allowed to cool or cooled by the air K from a blower, etc., to 800 deg.C. The atomized mist M is sprayed on the slag in the container 2 to eliminate phreatic explosion, and the slag is forcedly cooled to 200 deg.C by sprinkler S.</p> |
