A child's bed or cot comprises a bed unit which can be folded up to a small space-saving configuration and which consists of a bed base 11, side and end walls 12, 13 of flexible material, and a detachable stand 19 - 22. The stand comprises a support frame 19, 20, 22 for supporting the bed unit at the upper edges of the side and end walls 12, 13, and four legs 21 located at the four corners of the bed for supporting the frame. When the bed is in the position of use, each of these legs 21 slopes obliquely downwards and outwards to such an extent that the lower end of the leg is situated at a distance outside the adjacent base side 23 of the bed. The lower end of the leg is received in a socket 25 which is connected to the bed base 11 via a strong connection piece 26. The upper ends of the stand legs are releasably connected to the support frame 19, 20, 22 in a position in which their lower ends are situated slightly further from the bed base than their associated sockets.
