PURPOSE:To make the inserting/extracting force of a substrate approach to zero to improve productivity by clampingly pressing a prescribed portion of the electrical circuit-forming region of a flexible substrate by a facing bidirectional pushing operation from the external of a frame consisting a connector so that the opening space of the contact piece of a contact is expanded. CONSTITUTION:The connector for a flexible substrate 6 forming an electric circuit on resin film is equipped with means 10, 10' to expand the opening space of the contact piece 8a of a contact 8 which comes into contact with the prescribed portion of the electric circuit-forming region of a flexible substrate 6 by clampingly pressing this portion. When the flexible substrate 6 is inserted into and pulled out of the connector body, the opening in the neighborhood of the contact piece 8a of the contact 8 is expanded in advance. It is thereby possible to make the inserting force or extracting force of the flexible substrate 6 against the connector body zero or approach zero and to improve the productivity. |
