PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of damage by eliminating the contact of an optical fiber with a loop-shaped guiding member by inserting the optical fiber into the guiding member and stabilizing the position of the optical fiber by introducing sufficient air flow from the surroundings. CONSTITUTION: At the center of a main body 24 of a guiding device having a hole 26 of which the dimension is larger than that of an optical fiber 10, the optical fiber 10 is inserted and the sufficient air currents are introduced from gas passages 28 arranged distributedly over the surroundings. A gas system is composed of the gas passages 28, outlet hole 30 coupled onto the inner face of the hole 26, supply line 32 for guiding the air currents to the gas passages 28, and high-pressure chamber 34. Thus, a flow cushion is generated by gas currents guided from the gas passages 28, the optical fiber 10 is held at the central position and prevented from mechanically touching the guiding device, and the generation of damage can be prevented. |
