<p>PURPOSE:To always keep a band quantity regulated in each virtual path by aborting a cell when the cell arrives in excess of the band quantity regulated in advance in a relevant virtual path, when a virtual channel is multiplexed onto the virtual path. CONSTITUTION:A flow monitoring control section 46b for each virtual path in a VP termination section 46 monitors the input cell flow and checks whether or not a cell arrives in excess of a band quantity regulated in the virtual path. When the arrival of the cell exceeding the regulated band quantity is detected, the cells exceeding the band quantity are aborted at the arrival. After the cell flow of each virtual path monitored by flow monitoring control sections 46ba, 46bb, 46bc is multiplexed by a virtual path multiplex section 46c, the result is inputted to a VP switching section and outputted to a physical transmission line via a transmission line termination section. Thus, the band quantity regulated to each virtual path is always kept during the actual operation of the network.</p> |
