PURPOSE: To obtain a hair conditioning shampoo excellent in combing properties and handleability, containing an alkyl sulfate and/or an alkyl lower alkoxy sulfate instead of another anionic detergent. CONSTITUTION: This objective substance contains 0.5-25wt.% of an anionic detergent which is a 6C, 8C and/or 10C alkyl sulfate and/or a 6C, 8C and/or 10C alkyl lower alkoxy sulfate, 0. 5-10wt.% of a water-insoluble hair conditioning agent (e.g. aminosilicone) and 34-99wt.% of an aqueous medium. The substance can be prepared into a dosage form such as liquid, cream, gel or paste. The substance has pearly luster effects and conditioning characteristics.
