PURPOSE:To apply the automatic code detection function to a character synchronizing line also, by collating the bit pattern of the line synchronizing character from a terminal device with the bit pattern of the synchronizing character of every code to detect the code automatically. CONSTITUTION:In a character synchronizing line, a means to detect the bit pattern of the synchronizing character in every code is provided in a line control device LC to recognize the code used at the time point. For example, in case a terminal equipment T1 communicates with a central control device CT, transmission is requested from the terminal equipment T1 to a line concentrator CL, and the line concentrator CL is connected to a SYN synchronizing line L after checking the idle state of the SYN synchronizing line. The terminal equipment T1 transmits the SYN synchronizing character due to its own code, and this SYN synchronizing character is received by a receiving buffer RB in the line control device LC, and receiving is reported to a control device CNT. Then, the control device CNT collates the bit pattern in the receiving buffer RB with contents of a SYN character bit pattern table SYNBIT to detect the code of the terminal equipment T1. |
