<p>The invention relates to a line reel particularly for use in fly fishing, comprising a line holder (2) rotatable around a reel axle (5) and a brake means (23) and a tripper and adjustment device (30) in cooperation therewith. Brake means (23) is adapted to have a decelerating effect on the rotating motion of the line holder (2) and/or to stop the rotation of line holder (2) during the application of force to tripper and adjustment device (30) and to automatically cut off the communicating action as the application of force is stopped. Tripper and adjustment device (30) is adapted to be mounted at a distance from reel body portion (1) on the shaft of a fishing rod (35). Thus, the braking power can be adjusted by one hand while the other hand is left free to perform other actions required by the situation.</p> |
