AMPLIFIER DEVICE FOR WAVELENGTH MULTIPLEX OPTICAL TRANSMISSION LINE

PURPOSE:To allow the execution of amplification by optical amplification in the optical transmission line of wave length multiplex optical communication by transmitting light rays of plural wavelengths by respectively one each to each of auxiliary transmission lines and providing optical amplifiers which optically amplify the transmitted ligth rays thereof to the auxiliary transmission lines. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of multiplexing/demultiplexing elements 12, 13 are disposed in series in the main optical transmission line 11 where the light of the plural wavelengths is transmitted. The plural auxiliary transmission lines 14 corresponding to the number of the wavelengths are provided between these multiplexing/demultiplexing elements. The light rays of the plural wavelengths are transmitted respectively by one each to each of these auxiliary transmission lines 14 and the optical amplifiers 15 which optically amplify the transmitted light rays thereof are provided in these auxiliary transmission lines 14. The equipment devices for wavelength multiplex optical communication are simplified and the optical amplifier having high reliability is obtd.
