<p>A silver halide photographic material low in fogging generation and high in sensitivity comprising a silver halide emulsion selenium sensitized with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formulae (I) and (III): <CHEM> wherein each of R1, R2, R3 and R4 represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, a carboxyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group or a sulfamoyl group, provided that a tetramethylselenourea is excluded; <CHEM> wherein each of R8, R9, R10 and R11 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, a carboxyl group, a formyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group or a sulfamoyl group, provided that at least one pair of R8 and R9, R9 and R10, R10 and R11, and R11 and R8 combine to form a ring.</p> |
