PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting multiple oxide having superior stability and a high critical temp. by rendering a specified compsn. consisting of Bi, Sr, Cu and O. CONSTITUTION:This superconducting multiple oxide has a compsn. represented by the formula (where n is 2 or 3 and 0.3<=y<=0.9) and may be produced by mixing prescribed amts. of compds. of Bi, Sr and Cu such as oxides, nitrates, carbonates or oxalates and bringing the mixture into a solid phase reaction by heating at a prescribed temp. in a prescribed atmosphere. It is necessary that the amt. of oxygen contained in the resulting multiple oxide satisfies 0.3<=y<=0.9. In the case of y>0.9. an unfavorable superconducting phase having a low critical temp. deposits. In the case of y<0.3, an unfavorable semiconductor phase deposits. The multiple oxide is molded into a prescribed shape optionally after pulverization to <=10mum with a ball mill, a jet mill, etc., and the molded body is sintered. |
