PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of NOx by burning a gas-rich mixture gas jetted out of a first flame hole in the combustion section for first stage combustion with oxygen shortage and, next, discharging from a second flame hole the unburned gas with excess secondary air in order to carry out two-stage combustion with oxygen in excess. CONSTITUTION:Most part of a mixture gas that is mixed in a channel 6 forms the main flames by burning in main flame holes 11, and the rest of the mixture gas rises from side flame holes 12 between the outer side faces of flat device body 5 and flame holding plates 13 and burns to form side flames. Further, part of the unburned gas burns by secondary air in a combustion chamber 14. With this arrangement by the combustion at the first flame holes in the combustion section 14 the primary stage combustion is made with oxygen shortage. The rest of the unburned gas that does not burn in the combustion section 14 and the combustion exhaust gas are discharged from second flame holes 16 as well with the secondary air through a secondary air passage 9 to form an air-rich rarefied flame 23 and secondary combustion is made. In this way a gas burner 2 makes two-stage combustion, and at the same time it carries out thick and thin combustions and it is capable of suppressing the amount of the generated NOx. |
