<p>PURPOSE:To enable a terminal to know the congested state of a network by providing the packet exchange system with a status change informing/generating means for forming/resending a status change informing packet in an exchange in accordance with combination of the value of a status storage area and a status change information receiving/displaying area value included in a packet received from the terminal. CONSTITUTION:Each exchange is provided with a congestion information transfer control part 190 having a self-state storage area 1922 and an other state storage area 1921 in the distribution circuit of a line interface part. A resending control circuit 1910 generates/resends a congestion informing packet based upon the state stored in the areas 1922, 1921 when at least one of a self- congestion state and other congestion state is ON and the congestion state confirming field of the received packet is OFF. Consequently, an unconfirmed status change informating packet can be resent from the exchange to the terminal and the status change of the network can surely be informed.</p> |
