PURPOSE: To produce an extract, stable to pH, having a substantially constant content of a salt and capable of achieving a prescribed level of tonicity without substantially containing anthraquinone by washing an aloe leaf with a bactericidal solution, removing an end portion from the washed leaf, draining a juice and then removing the rind. CONSTITUTION: An aloe leaf is washed with a bactericidal washing solution to remove substantially all the surface dirt and bacteria. At least the first end portion is removed from the washed leaf and an anthraquinone-rich sap is drained, preserved and collected. The rind is then removed from the leaf to afford a substantially anthraquinone-free aloe gel. Otherwise, the washed leaf is crushed and the crushed leaf is dialyzed to chemically take out and separate the objective aloe gel from the residual fraction. Furthermore, an aloe gel fillet is ground and homogenized to provide an aloe juice. A water-soluble lower fatty polar solution is added to deposit an active chemical substance and the resultant deposit is isolated and dried to afford the active chemical substance in the aloe plant. |
