PURPOSE:To efficiently convert a light beam into the form of a ring, and to make the diameter of a light spot small by using a beam converting means to convert emitted light from a light source into the ring-shaped light beam by using refraction. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 is turned into parallel light 13 by a condenser lens 2, and becomes incident on the beam converting means 12. The beam converting means 12 consists of conical surfaces A, B, and the light beam 13 is refracted simultaneously with it comes incident on the conical surface A, and next, it reaches the conical surface B, and here, it is refracted again and is emitted in the air. Accordingly, the emission light of the beam converting means 12 becomes parallel with the parallel light 13, and its shape becomes ring-shaped. Thus, since the beam can be converted into the form of the ring without shielding the light, all the emission light of the semiconductor laser 1 can be used. Thus, the ring-shaped beam capable of making the light spot small can be generated without being accompanied with the loss of the light at the time of converting. |
