The locking device (2) is particularly intended for use with a sliding window, door or similar system (1). It incorporates in its housing (15) a slider (18) connected to a hooked bolt (22) engaging with a catch (29) attached firmly to the frame (30). The slider is held by a locking device (34) with a return spring, the locking device (34) being a unit separate from the slider (18). It also incorporates components for positioning (42 to 44) and for holding (41, 48), which engage with complementary components (27, 44, 51, 52) of the sliding door or window (1). ……
