PURPOSE: To adhere a black matrix only between electrode areas by adhering a blackened polymer material over the entire surface of a substrate having the electrode areas and photosensitive resist layer areas, curing this material and removing the material, thereby allowing the blackened polymer material only to remain in the areas between the electrode areas. CONSTITUTION: Hydrofluoric acid is used for etching the substrate 10 of the etched areas of the electrode layer 11b and eventually, recessed parts 16 are formed. Next, the entire surface of the substrate plate 20 having the electrode areas 11b and photosensitive resist areas 12b is coated with the blackened polymer material 14 and, thereafter, the resist material is dried and precured. Next, the remaining photosensitive resist areas 12b are removed together with the black matrix material 14 thereon with a dilute alkaline soln. Consequently, only the electrode areas 11b and the black matrix areas 14b existing between the electrode areas 11b are made to remain on the substrate plate 10. As a result, the max. possible areas are eventually coated with the black matrix material. |
