A device for the removal of active substances locally applied against a solid tumour consists of a catheter positioned distally of the tumour to collect blood coming from it, and a second catheter for returning blood to the body. A container holding immobilised substances having a high affinity against the active substances, is connected between the two catheters. The two catheters may be shaped as a double bore catheter. Inflatable cuffs are pref. used to shut-off blood vessels adjacent the blood removal point. |
