PURPOSE: To enhance delivery pressure, motive power consumption, and operating efficiency by determining two points on the interior wall surface of the lap element of one scroll element, and setting an arcuate portion between an inner tip portion and the first point and a circular arcuate portion between the two points. CONSTITUTION: In a scroll fluid machine having fixed and turning scrolls obtained when first and second involute scroll lap elements 30, 32 which mesh with each other to define a plurality of compression pockets between them are formed integrally with first and second scroll end plates 24, 28, first and second points A, B are determined on the interior wall surface 134 of each lap element 30, 32 and a circular arcuate portion 138 is formed at an angleδfrom the point A to the point B. In order to connect an inner tip portion 136 at a point A2 , a coupling arcuate portion 140 is formed from the point A. Further, a third inner compression wall portion 142 extending from the point B to the outer end portion of the lap element 32 is formed in the lap element 32.
