13DV-8814 CONTOURED ROTOR BLADE SHROUD SEGMENT A shroud segment adapted to mount to fixed support structure of the casing of the turbine or compressor of a gas turbine engine has an outer face and an inner face formed with end portions having a first radius of curvature which are located on either side of a center portion having a second radius of curvature. A temperature differential between the inner and outer faces of the shroud segment during operation of the gas turbine engine causes the shroud segment to chord or straighten out circumferentially so that a combined, substantially uniform radius of curvature is formed on the inner face which closely conforms to the path of motion of the rotor blades of the gas turbine engine.
