Device for freeing stuck fishing hooks and the like, comprising a body 10, which is movable along a fishing line 12 in the direction of the stuck hook, having a device 13 for engagement with a swivel or with the hook with a view to entrainment of the hook and comprising a drive member 16;22, engaging with the fishing line, for positive drive engagement with the fishing line. The drive member 16;22 is arranged to be driven by means of a spring drive mechanism 17,17' which can be manually charged with energy. The spring drive mechanism 17' is arranged to work intermittently with alternating short motions in the retreat direction and longer motions in the advance direction. It is preferred that an outer drive roller 22 should be mounted directly on the shaft of the spring drive mechanism, in which case the device is realized such that, when in use, the fishing line 12 is wound one or two turns around the drive roller 22 in order for this to be driven when energy is being stored and in order to be moved by this along the fishing line 12 when the tension is released. <IMAGE> |
