Liq. (3) held in a container (1) under the pressure in the upper part of the enclosed container of gas (4) supplied from an internal feeder (8) is delivered into an axial metering chamber (2) by the gas pressure, via an aperture (27) normally closed by an annular seal (26). The vol. of liq. received in the metering chamber is determined by the balance between the supply pressure and that in an upper counter-pressure chamber, and can be varied as desired. The upper chamber occupies an inverted bell structure (24), closed at its head. A rotary valve (9) at the metering chamber foot (9) is opened to deliver the metered vol. into one of a succession of moving containers (12), or into admixture with one or more further components. USE/ADVANTAGE - For drink or mixed drink dispensing. Metering accuracy is largely independent of storage container pressure. Absence of moving seals improves reliability and facilitates cleaning.
