This phosphorus-containing diammonium salt is used as a growth regulator. It has the following formula:<IMAGE>and is obtained by reacting dialkyl phosphite or dimethyl phosphite with ethylene-diamine at a molar ratio of 2:1 for the complete alkylation of ethylene-diamine. The reaction takes place in a methyl alcohol solution at temperatures of up to 50 degrees C.
