The point wise data and power transmitter enables at least one transmission of information on the route of a vehicle (SG) wherein the required power is inductively transmitted from the vehicle (SG) to a fixed route device (OS) which transmits encoded traffic light (LL) indicative signals, conveyed from the traffic lights (LL) via a signal circuit (SE), to the rail vehicle (SG). A test interval (PL) is defined at least at the beginning (to) of each power transmission in which the brances (L1-L5) of the control lines (SL) have predefined potentials. When a predetermined control line condition exists, a test circuit (PG) gives an indication (FK) to a transmitter (SR) of the route device (OS) to enable subsequent information transmission. USE/ADVANTAGE - For transmitting data and power between the car of a rail vehicle and a fixed route device. Increased level of safety and relaibly in connection between the signal circuit and the route device. Reduced labour intensive personal input for function control.
