PURPOSE:To improve the rigidity of radial spokes so as to prevent their deformation by connecting the intermediate parts of the radial spokes to the outer edge of a flat plate like bracket for fitting an air bag at the radial spokes of a steering wheel. CONSTITUTION:A steering gear 1 is provided with a supporting plate 3 fitted removably by a bolt 4 at the protruding end, onto the vehicle interior side, of the upper end of a steering shaft 2. Numerous spokes 5 are radially fitted at the supporting plate 3, and a round steering wheel 6 is fitted at the protruding end of each spoke 5. An air bag 9 is further fitted at the spokes 5, at the center inner part of the steering wheel 6, through a bracket 10. In such constitution, the bracket 10 is formed into a flat plate, and the intermediate part of each spoke 5 is welded to each angular part of the bracket 10. The rigidity of each spoke 5 is thereby improved, thus preventing its deformation at the time of collision. |
