PURPOSE:To prevent a clutch gear from being slipped off from its engaging position by a method wherein a latch member is latched to a fixing part, e.g. a side face of a transmission gear, with an engaging action by the travel of the clutch gear at the travel time of a carrier. CONSTITUTION:At the travel of a carrier 6, a key groove 4d of a clutch gear 4 engages with a key part 2h of a lead screw 2, whereby the clutch gear 4 slides on the lead screw 2 and rotates together with the lead screw 2. The clutch gear 4 is energized toward the carrier 6 by a spring 5. Normally, in recording, the clutch gear 4 is disposed in a predetermined position by a groove 2i of the lead screw 2 and rotates with the lead screw 2. With the travel of a recording head 9 to a home position, the clutch gear 4 is pressed by the carrier 6 to start engaging with a timing gear 21. The clutch gear 4 is provided with a start tooth 4c1 and a normal drive tooth 4c2. The start tooth 4c1 and the drive tooth 4c2 are provided on different positions in the width direction of the clutch gear. |
