PURPOSE:To obtain the converted picture of density close to the density of an original picture by determining the density of the converted picture by feeding back a density error between the original picture and the converted picture. CONSTITUTION:An original picture block 13 is supplied to a sum calculating part 14, and its density summed value 16 is calculated. A correcting part 17 adds a density correction value 19 '0.4' supplied from an error buffer 18 to the density 16 '1', and obtains a corrected density error 21 '1.4', and outputs it. The outputted corrected density value 21 of the original picture block 13 is inputted to the comparator 23 of a converted picture element density determining part 22, and is binarized by a threshold 26 inputted form a threshold calculating part 24. A converted picture element density value 27 '0' is stored in l-line m-column of the area of a converted picture element memory 28 corresponding to the original picture block 13. |
