A permanent magnet excited rotating electrical high-speed machine has a stator core (11a-11f) and a permanent magnet excited rotor (2). The stator winding, consisting of six coils (12a-12f) and designed as a toroid winding, is arranged on the stator core. The stator is made in the form of a plurality of assembled-together stator segments (e.g. 11a, 12a, 13a). Each stator segment comprises a core segment (e.g. 11a) with a coil (12a) applied on the core segment prior to the assembly of the stator.
