The invention concerns a device and process for applying patterns or coatings to, or for inking, strips of material in short yardage or large-scale production, the applicator being pressed magnetically against the strip of material or the stencil plate. The invention proposes that the values of the patterning or coating parameters be adjusted by hand to give the desired results, and these values then used for large-scale production. The applicator is preferably rotatably mounted, using at least one sliding-joint connector (9, 10), on a support bar (12) and/or mounted to be able to move axially with respect to the support bar at a variable distance and angle with respect to the support bar. |
