<p>A self aligning guide system for one or more circular saw blades (10) allows the guides (22) to be aligned on a shaft (12) while the saws (10) are rotating at operating speed under no load. The system has a positionable saw blade (10) and a floatin saw blade guide (22) located on another porition of the saw blade (10). The floating saw blade guide (22) has a first guide block (28) with a face engageable with the other side face of the saw blade (10), a guide housing (30) containing the first and second guide blocks (28), the guide housing (30) slidingly mounted on an elongate member (24) substantially parallel to the saw blade shaft (12). A top clamp arm (36) and a bottom clamp arm (36) with a shaft (44) operated by piston (42) within a cylinder (40) clamp and unclamp the guide housing (20) on the elongate member (24), and remote operational switch (30) effects the clamping and unclamping of the guide block (30) on the elongate member (24).</p> |
