<p>The invention provides heating apparatus having main flow (120) and return (121) pipes for connection to a main water heating device (119), subsidiary flow (102) and return (103) pipes for connection to a subsidiary water heating device (101) and a by-pass pipe (141) by which water in the subsidiary flow pipe is directed to flow into the main return pipe. This allows for hot water flow from the subsidiary heating device to be fed into the return pipe of the main heating device, in order to boost the temperature of the water in the return pipe of the main heating device, thus reducing fuel consumption in the main water heating device. The invention also provides a method of linking a main with a subsidiary water heater, which comprises directing water to flow from a flow pipe of the subsidiary heater into the return pipe of the main heater.</p> |
