PURPOSE:To stably receive a reflected wave by holding the contact state of the outer end surface of a guide and the surface of an object to be inspected even when there is variation in the interval between the nozzle end surface of a skirter and the surface of the object to be inspected so as to follow said variation. CONSTITUTION:The outer end surface 7a of a guide 7 is pressed to the surface of an object to be inspected to such an extent hat a spring 8 is slightly bent and a skirter 6 is filled with water from a pipe 3 in this state so that a probe 1 is immersed in water. At this time, the water is supplied to such an extent that the water slightly leaks from the contact surface of the outer end surface 7a of the guide 7 with the surface of the object to be inspected so that a water column 4 extremely slow in flow velocity becoming the propagation route of an ultrasonic wave is formed in both of guide 7 and the skieter 6. When this water column 4 is formed, an ultrasonic wave is emitted from the probe 1 and propagates through the water column 4 to be incident on the object to be inspected. The reflected wave from the object to be inspected propagates through the water column 4 to be stably received by the probe 1 without being disturbed. As mentioned above, by providing the spring 8 between the guide 7 and the skirter 6 and holding the contact state of the outer end surface of the guide 7 with the surface of the object to be inspected, the reflected wave can be stably received. |
