PURPOSE:To reduce the loop of a sheet material and prevent the contact of the image transcribed surface of the sheet material from coming in contact with a guide member by providing a pressing means for pressing the sheet material at a carriage route onto the side of a non-image transcribed surface. CONSTITUTION:A pressing member 20 for pressing a sheet material S to the side of a carriage guide 16 is provided at the intermediate part of another carriage guide 17. The pressing force of the pressing member 20 is so set as to be weaker than tension applied to the sheet material S due to a carriage speed difference between a fixing roller 15a and a discharge roller 18. According to the aforesaid construction, the loop of the sheet material S can be reduced, and the contamination of the image transcribed surface of the sheet material S due to contact with the carriage guide 17 after image fixing can be prevented.
