PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for parallel provision of a metallic cable for power supply between a master data communication equipment and a slave data communication equipment by using an electric power being the result of converting optical power of a received optical signal with an optical power generating element as an operating power supply for the slave data communication equipment. CONSTITUTION:A slave data communication equipment 20 consists of an optical power generating element 21 receiving an optical signal and converting its optical power into an electric power, a data extraction means 22 extracting a data electric signal 42 from the power obtained by the element 21 and a constant voltage generating means 23 outputting the power as an operating power supply of the equipment with a constant voltage when the power exceeds a preset reference value. Then the element 21 converts the optical power of the received optical signal into an electric power and the data extraction means 22 extracts the electric signal 42 being the data from the converted power and the constant voltage generating means 23 generates the determined constant voltage 43 to supply it as the operating power of the equipment. Thus, a metallic cable for power supply is not required and other power supply such as a battery is not required and power can be supplied simply. |
