PURPOSE:To improve a startup feeling and the like by performing speed change action between any speed change stages by the switching of the power transmission path of either a first or a second speed change gear mechanism in a first running mode and by the simultaneous switching in a second running mode. CONSTITUTION:In an electronic control circuit 100, the speed change action between any speed change stages of an automatic transmission 1 is performed only by the switching of the power transmission path of either a first (multistage gear mechanism) or a second (overdrive) speed change gear mechanism by means of a changeover switch 106 in a first running mode applying a speed change pattern with a speed change line set on the high speed side thus avoiding additional speed change shock. In a second mode set on the low speed side, the speed change action between any speed change stages is performed by the simultaneous switching of the power transmission paths of the first and second speed change gear mechanisms, thus enabling the application of a change gear ratio different fran one in the first running mode. The generation of speed change shock can be thus suppressed as well as a powerful startup feeling can be obtained. |
