<p>PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of packet multiplexing by switching a buffer quantity supervisory system reducing a packet abort rate and a limit polling system reducing a maximum wait time at a prescribed period. CONSTITUTION:A buffer quantity supervisory device 29 fetches counted values of counters 251-25N and sends a prescribed control signal in response to the count to a switching section 33 of a changeover device 32. A limit polling device 31 sends a prescribed control signal to the switching section 33 of the changeover device 32 and a switching control section 34. The switching section 33 selects either of the sections in response to a switching signal inputted from the switching control section 34 and switches them at a prescribed period and sends the signal to a switch 27. Since both the limit type polling system and the buffer quantity supervisory system are switched periodically in this way, the reduction in the packet abort rate and the reduction in the maximum wait time are realized complementarily.</p> |
