PURPOSE:To accomplish the crushing of virus particles without damaging the partial structure of the envelope by putting virus particles to high-speed collision treatment. CONSTITUTION:Virus particles, in combination with an appropriate medium (pref. liquid), are introduced into collision area through a high pressure (pref. using an air pump), the pressure is converted into flow speed by narrowing the diameter of the flow channel, and the virus particles are crushed by interaction between the impact force generated when said virus particles collide on objects in high speed within the collision area and the cavitation due to the vacuum action developed when the treating fluid passes in high speed. After the flow channel is branched into two subchannels which are then brought into a form so as to face each other, thereby enabling collision among the particles. It is preferable that the treatment be made under a pressurization of 1500-3000kg/cm<2> and at a flow speed of 500-800m/sec. By using a crushed product of the virus particles obtained through the above process, such vaccine that its immunogenicity is equal to that of the wholly particulate vaccine and the pyrogenicity has been vanished can be obtained. |
