<p>PURPOSE:To adjust the quantity of a cell to flow to an ATM switching network by measuring the transfer speed of the cell to be sent from an ATM terminal to an exchange, opening and closing a data circuit based on the measured transfer speed. CONSTITUTION:A gate circuit 11 is opened and closed according to a command from a traffic monitoring circuit 12 and controls the flow of a cell 10 to flow to an exchange 4. The traffic monitoring circuit 12 always counts the number of the cells 100 to be transferred from an ATM terminal 3 to the exchange 4 and when a transfer number C of the cells 100 for each unit time exceeds a reference value C1 set in advance, the closing command is outputted to the gate circuit 11. When the transfer number C of the cells 100 for each unit time is smaller than a reference value C2 set in advance, the traffic monitoring circuit 12 outputs the opening command to the gate circuit 11. Thus, the quantity of the cell to flow to the ATM switching network can be adjusted.</p> |
