<p>PURPOSE:To shorten the time of access to a mass storage unit by selecting and mounting a recording medium which allows the present process to end in the shortest time when mounting the recording medium. required to be read or written on the pre-loading mechanism of the unit. CONSTITUTION:The system consists of read and write unit D1 to D4, recording media m1 to m16, recording-medium storage MS, accessor AC, and transfer units X1 and X2 which data from a recording medium to another unit. Further, this system is provided with controller SC controlling units D1 to D4, media m1 to m16 and units X1 and X2, pre-loading mechanisms PL1 to PL4, and process lists LD1 to LD4 which correspond to units D1 to D4. To this system, the allocator device is connected which consists of process-list fetch circuit FT, regisers R1 to R4, decoder DEC, multipliers ML1 to ML3, adder AD, AND gate A and comparative storage unit C, and among units D1 and D4, a unit which completes its process in the shortest time is selected and assigned.</p> |
