<p>PURPOSE: To prevent a poppet valve from being clogging with a granular material by letting water from a shuttle chamber flow to one of two outlet passages by a selector valve and sealing a piston of the poppet valve and a by-pass passage to a secondary outlet. CONSTITUTION: When a spray nozzle of a sink/faucet system is used, water pressure in a connector 18 is lowered and the pressure in regions 35, 39 becomes lower than the pressure in a shuttle chamber 26 so that water flows through an orifice 31, a by-pass passage 32 and a connector 18. Since the pressure in the region 34 is higher than that in the region 35, a poppet valve 20 is moved down by a piston 30 to close a valve seat 19, thereby intercepting the flow from a chamber 37 to a water tap faucet 11. The piston 30 is pressed and expanded to the inner wall of a secondary passage 22 by water pressure to perform fluid sealing, thereby preventing water from flowing through the piston 30 to eliminate the possibility that granular material is captured between the inner wall of the secondary passage 22 and the piston 30. Thus, the poppet valve can be prevented from being clogged with a granular material.</p> |
