Substances in the solid state intended for application toe the skin, comprising an active agent, (I) which has a desired effect after applicaton to the skin, opt. fillers and a binder which contains or consists exclusively of a wax-, fat- or oil-like substance (II), the overall binder being soluble in water. USE/ADVANTAGE - The prods. are esp. useful for the prodn. of stick-type applicators of the type used for application of lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow, makeup, insect repellents, sun protection agents, cosmetics, etc. to the skin. The binder give stick type prods. with high mechanical strength, shear resistance, drop break resistance, and resistance to high temps. The active substance (I) may be e.g. (in)organic cosmetic pigments, pearl gloss agents, metal powders, physiologically active substances such as painkillers (acetyl salicylic acid) antiphlogistic and cooling agents (bisabolol, camomile, menthol), disinfecting, antiobiotic substances, etc.
