PURPOSE:To reduce the sewing or joining manhours and hold high shape retaining properties, through flexible, by a method wherein the skin concerned consists of a shape retaining layer, which is made of foaming resin into the predetermined recessed and projected shape, and a flexible skin layer, which is joined integrally to the surface of the shape retaining layer and covers a core material, which is formed separately. CONSTITUTION:A skin 1 consists of a skin layer 11 made of woven fabric and a shape retaining layer 12, which is integrally joined to the skin layer 11. Under the condition that a skin material 11' is arranged on the mold surface of the bottom force 20 of a mold 2, foaming urethane resin is poured from the nozzle hole 22 of the top force 21. Then, the foaming urethane resin is expanded after the nozzle hole is blocked with a plug 23. After the solidification of the resin, the shaped skin 1, which consists of the skin layer 11 and the shape retained layer 12, is obtained. Sewing process is eliminated and consequently manhours for that is reduced. A rear skin 3, which is formed in the predetermined shape, and the shaped skin 1 are put together inside out and joined in a bag-like shape leaving their lower end parts un-joined. After that, by turning the resultant assembly out, a skin body is obtained. Finally, a core material 46 made of urethane foam is covered with the obtained bag-like skin body and the lower end parts are closed in order to obtain a seat back 4. |
