PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely protect a building itself including its foundation against fungus such as mildew by mixing at least one kind of Ag, Zn and the compound thereof, directly into the foundation, or applying the same over the outer surface of the foundation. SOLUTION: At least one kind of Ag, Zn and a compound thereof is directly mixed into a foundation or laid over the outer surface of the same. Ag, Zn or the compound thereof is used in such a way which is stuck to ceramic particles having a particle size of 0.2 to 5μm. When these particles are mixed into the foundation made of concrete or the like, the blending ratio thereof is preferably in a rage from 0.5 to 10 wt.%. Further, in the case of a foundation in which it cannot be directly mixed, such as a steel foundation, the suspension liquid of the particles is applied over the foundation by spraying, so that these particles are stuck thereto in a rate of about 0.1 to 10 g/m<2> . With this arrangement, fungus such as mildew is prevented from occurring, and accordingly, it is possible to prevent mildew or the like from shifting into the building through the foundation.
