PURPOSE:To prevent burning caused by the drop of a contact part or a cable by providing a cable drop monitor, which can monitor voltage drop inside a cable, in a power supply device. CONSTITUTION:A potential difference monitor 10 comprises a differential amplifier 14, a comparator 12, and a standard voltage source 13. The potential difference between a terminal 21 and a terminal 31 is amplified, and this is input into one side of the comparator 12. Reference voltage 13 is input into the other terminal of the comparator 12, and when potential difference between the terminal 21 and the terminal 31 exceeds this reference voltage, it outputs a cutting signal 11 to a power source device 20. If cable resistance increases by any reason, such a case occurs as that even if load currents I1 are intact, cable drop increases and exceeds the reference value V2 as shown by straight line B. In this case, a signal is output from the comparator 12, and this is transmitted to the power source device 20 as a cutting signal. |
