Process for producing paper by shaping and dewatering a suspension of cellulose-containing fibres, and, where appropriate, fillers, on an endless wire in the presence of a cationic silica-based sol, a cationic polyacrylamide and a cationic starch. The combination of cationic silica sol and the cationic polymers results in an improved retention of fine fibres and fillers and facilitates the dewatering. |
