The mantle of the sieve, to separate a fibre pulp suspension into fractions, is fitted with parallel blades in a vertical stack and at defined intervals. Their outer edges are angled downwards. Pref. the blade ends are angled at 30-50 deg. to the horizontal. The radial dimensions of the blades give a width of 2-10 times the gap between them, and pref. 3-5 times, to give a radial blade width of 10-30 mm. The lower end of the sieve rests on the base of the chamber. A central opening at the lower end of the sieve is above the outlet for the second fraction at the chamber base. The inlet opening for the fibre suspension is tangentially at the upper section of the chamber, matching the direction of sieve rotation. - |
