Particularly in displays with a matrix structure, control can be achieved using the electrodes which are already present and used for electro-optical effects, so that application of additional layers to the unit during manufacture is unnecessary, and optical reflection losses can be reduced. This is achieved in that these electrodes are connected in a different way as capacitance sensors, which respond to a finger touching the overlaid surface.
